"Mac Erlaine is consistently one of the most interesting and adventurous musicians of his generation."
"Evocative and heartfelt... An elegant and haunting celebration of tradition and modernity that extols the possibilities of modern folk music to surprise and delight."
"Free spirited and adventurous... it is refreshing to hear young musicians taking risks and pushing the boundaries... An encouraging example of the spirit of innovation current in Irish contemporary music."
"One of the busiest musicians on the scene."
"He has the confidence to persue his own purposes without feeling the need to show everything he can do in every piece or to indulge in flash display."
"Resembling a passionate, soulful John Butcher, shifting from bleak mournful passages to jagged skronky free jazz, often falling in and out of extended techniques... A surprisingly welcome interlude of direct human expression."
"A singular, stylish and somewhat startling proposition... There's something jazz-like in the nimbleness of the pieces... Its flights of fancy suggest journeys of a more questing, challenging and interior kind."
"Musical conversations and solos that overflowed with nonchalant, dissonant beauty... An outstanding set mesmerizing in its power, depth and simplicity."
